“The Story” is found by reading the bible. To know more about our Father, our Lord and and the Holy Spirit, we ask that you join us in reading an assigned group of scriptures each day. These scriptures will serve as a roadmap to help us read through the bible in a year and know Him and know ourselves deeper each day.
Secondly, as we read we highlight truths from God’s Word that touch our spirit and write notes that are meaningful to us. Those notes become our journal. In our journal, we are recording our walk with the Lord as He teaches us through our daily readingWe will end up with a written journal of our growing relationship with the Lord based on three levels with our new identity.”]
There are two major questions that every person ask themselves about life. The first one is “Who am I” and the second is “What is my purpose in this life?” So often we associate our value with our career, our reputation, our social media influence, among other things. The answers to these questions become our identity.
As a new creation in Christ, we must know that our identity is in Christ. Below are some scriptures, that help us place our identity in what Christ accomplished on the cross and in His resurrection. These truths that you live are based on faith in the Word of God. On a scale of 1-10, let us know how much you agree with these statements?
Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them – 2 Corinthians 5:17
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Romans 8:9
You, yourselves are a case study of what he does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God’s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted. There is no other Message—just this one. Every creature under heaven gets this same Message. I, Paul, am a messenger of this Message.
Now that we have the foundation, let’s look at the rest of building.
